My Roots.

Hui-Ling S. Malone is the youngest daughter of a Black American father and Chinese mother. Despite that her K-12 schooling largely erased her identity, she was taught by her parents to value her heritage. Now, as a teacher educator, her mission is to work with teachers to inspire inclusive curriculum so that every student matters.

Hui-Ling is the winner of the Patricia M. Carey Changemaker award from New York University and the recipient of the David D. Dickson Outstanding Teacher award from the English Department of Michigan State University.
